{"id":3292,"date":"2010-01-15T12:03:24","date_gmt":"2010-01-15T10:03:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=3292"},"modified":"2010-01-15T12:03:24","modified_gmt":"2010-01-15T10:03:24","slug":"cocaine-found-at-space-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/cocaine-found-at-space-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Cocaine found at Space Centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><strong>An investigation has been launched by the <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-3293\" title=\"NASA space agency\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/NASA-space-agency-258x220.jpg\" alt=\"NASA space agency\" width=\"270\" height=\"220\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/NASA-space-agency-258x220.jpg 270w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/NASA-space-agency-422x360.jpg 443w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/NASA-space-agency.jpg 468w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px\" \/>space agency chiefs after cocaine was found at the Kennedy Space Centre.<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2>A small bag of drugs was discovered in the restricted access Discovery space shuttle hangar at the agency&#8217;s Florida spaceport just weeks before a mission goes to orbit.<\/h2>\n<p>A NASA spokesperson has said over that the cocaine was found when a shuttle worker spotted it outside a bathroom and reported it to security.<\/p>\n<p>Bob Cabana, a former astronaut and director of the Kennedy Space Center, told SPACE.com: &#8220;This is a rare and isolated incident, and I&#8217;m disappointed that it happened.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But it should not detract from the outstanding work that is being done by a dedicated team on a daily basis.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The agency said that there have been no indications of anyone working on the premises while under the influence of an illegal substance.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drug sniffer dogs have been brought in and staff are being interviewed, Nasa said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Three years ago, Nasa was forced to deny allegations of boozy parties after an official report claimed two astronauts had flown into space while drunk.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cocaine found in Space Centre.
