Colombian Pop star Shakira seemed quite happy leaving the hospital with newborn baby Milan.<\/h1>\n

The joy of giving birth was written all over Shakira’s face as she left the clinic and headed home with her new born son Milan.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Colombian singer looked positively radiant as she was driven home in an SUV on Sunday afternoon, reportedly by one of her brothers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shakira, 35, couldn’t hide her delight as she beamed while sitting in the backseat of the car and looked glossy with her blonde locks coming down from under her hat.<\/span><\/p>\n

The star didn’t stop to answer any questions from the photographer that surrounded her as she and partner Gerard Pique left the Teknon Clinic.<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple were heading back to Pique’s home in Cabrils, which is approximately 15 miles from Barcelona.<\/span><\/p>\n

Their current residence is only temporary as they are having a new mansion built in Ciudad Condal.<\/span><\/p>\n

Clearly happy to be heading back to the comfort of their home, both Shakira and Gerard were seen with large smiles on their faces as a car drove them away.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shakira oozed happiness at being a new mother as she made her way back to their new house and covered up with a wooly hat and coat, while Gerard picked up his partner in a checked shirt, sporting his own huge grin.<\/span><\/p>\n

And it was only a couple of days ago that Shakira’s parents Nidia Ripoll and William Mubarak were seen arriving at the hospital, alongside Pique.<\/span><\/p>\n

The trio’s visit came after Nidia told waiting reporters outside the clinic that Shakira had ‘become very emotional and the tears flowed’ when she welcomed the little boy into the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was believed that Shakira was being kept in the hospital as her son was delivered by cesarean section, but she has now been allowed to go home.<\/span><\/p>\n

Shakira and her Barcelona FC footballer beau Gerard welcomed their first child together on Tuesday night.<\/span><\/p>\n

Announcing the happy news on her official website, Shakira and Gerard wrote: ‘We are happy to announce the birth of Milan Piqu\u00e9 Mebarak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerard Piqu\u00e9, born January 22nd at 9:36pm, in Barcelona, Spain.<\/span><\/p>\n

‘Just like his father, baby Milan became a member of FC Barcelona at birth.’<\/span><\/p>\n

The statement continued: ‘The name Milan (pronounced MEE-lahn), means dear, loving and gracious in Slavic; in Ancient Roman, eager and laborious; and in Sanskrit, unification…’<\/span><\/p>\n

The hospital confirmed that the couple\u2019s first child weighed approximately 6lbs. 6 ounces.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since the birth, Gerard has kept fans updated about his new baby boy, excitedly tweeting a picture of Milan’s first football trainers – complete with his name stitched on the side.<\/span><\/p>\n\n
