Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf said his country, which is battling militancy, has a friendly climate and conducive environment for foreign investment and business ventures.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Feb 13\/Nationalturk: In a move to attract investors to his country, Prime Minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf said his country, which is battling militancy, has a friendly climate and conducive environment for foreign investment and business ventures.<\/p>\n

\u201cPakistan has a friendly climate and conducive environment for foreign investment and business ventures,\u201d Ashraf said while speaking at a dinner-cum-reception hosted by UK Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UKPCCI) in his honour in London.<\/p>\n

He said Pakistan is an investment-friendly country and international companies are working there smoothly, which is reflective of normal situation prevailing in the\u00a0 country.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge investors, businessmen and representatives of international business organizations to invest in public-private business ventures since liberal economic policies in Pakistan allowed the foreign investors to repatriate principal as well as profit without hindrance,\u201d Ashraf said.<\/p>\n

Negative, distorted perception needed to be countered<\/h2>\n

He said that negative and distorted perception portrayed about difficult situation in the country, needed to be countered and corrected since ground realities were contrary to that.<\/p>\n

Pakistan is currently battling militancy and blasts, firing and explosions are taking place in the country on a daily basis and it has become a routine now.<\/p>\n

Ashraf said Pakistan had excellent relations with the United Kingdom and both countries were determined to bolster trade to 2.5 billion pound by 2015.<\/p>\n

Referring to his meeting with British counterpart David Cameron, he said the two sides discussed bilateral and other issues of international importance and had convergence of views in this regard.<\/p>\n

He was on a five-day visit to UK and during his stay in the country, he met British Prime Minister and other top officials of the country. He left for Pakistan this evening.<\/p>\n
