{"id":35113,"date":"2013-03-07T15:42:47","date_gmt":"2013-03-07T13:42:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=35113"},"modified":"2013-03-07T15:42:47","modified_gmt":"2013-03-07T13:42:47","slug":"north-korea-playing-a-dangerous-nuclear-game-with-us-asia-news-35113","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/north-korea-playing-a-dangerous-nuclear-game-with-us-asia-news-35113\/","title":{"rendered":"North Korea playing a dangerous nuclear game with US \/ Asia News"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/north-korea-nuclear-strike-threat.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-35135\" title=\"north-korea-nuclear-strike-threat\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/north-korea-nuclear-strike-threat.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"610\" height=\"343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/north-korea-nuclear-strike-threat.jpg 610w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/north-korea-nuclear-strike-threat-280x157.jpg 280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/h1>\n<h1>North Korea has threatened to launch a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States.<\/h1>\n<p>An unidentified spokesman for Pyongyang&#8217;s Foreign Ministry says the North will exercise its right for &#8220;pre-emptive nuclear strikes on the headquarters of the aggressors&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The spokesman claims Washington is pushing to start a nuclear war against North Korea.<\/p>\n<p>The threat comes hours ahead of a vote by UN diplomats on whether to level new sanctions against Pyongyang for its recent nuclear test.<\/p>\n<p>Inflammatory rhetoric is common from North Korea, however it has become more regular in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>The North has been angered by the possible sanctions and over upcoming US-South Korean military drills.<\/p>\n<p>The UN Security Council is set to impose a fourth round of sanctions against Pyongyang in a fresh attempt to rein in its nuclear and ballistic missile programmes.<\/p>\n<p>Russia&#8217;s UN Ambassador Vitaly Churkin, the current council president, said the council will vote on the draft sanctions resolution on Thursday morning.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution was drafted by the United States and China, North Korea&#8217;s closest ally.<\/p>\n<p>The council&#8217;s agreement to put the resolution to a vote just 48 hours later signalled that it would almost certainly have the support of all 15 council members.<\/p>\n<p>Although North Korea boasts of nuclear bombs and pre-emptive strikes, the country is not thought to have mastered the ability to produce a warhead small enough to put on a missile capable of reaching the US.<\/p>\n<p>It is believed to have enough nuclear fuel, however, for several crude nuclear devices.<\/p>\n<!-- Error, Advert is not available at this time due to schedule\/geolocation restrictions!
