Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has threatened to assassinate former Pakistani military ruler Parvez Musharraf on his return to country from self exile.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, March 23: The dreaded Pakistani militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has threatened to assassinate former Pakistani military ruler Parvez Musharraf on his return to country from self exile.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe group has set up squads of suicide bombers to assassinate Musharraf. Suicide bombers are being trained and assigned to assassinate the former president,\u201d TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan told Pakistan\u2019s newspaper, The Dawn from an undisclosed place.<\/p>\n

According to the newspaper, Adnan Rasheed, who took part in a previous attempt to assassinate Musharraf, has been given the charge of these suicide squads.<\/p>\n

Rasheed is a former junior technician of Pakistan Air Force who was on death row after getting convicted by a field general court martial for engineering assassination bid on Musharraf in December 2003. He was among the prisoners who had escaped during the April 15, 2012 Bannu jail break.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have prepared a special squad to send Musharraf to hell. There are suicide bombers, snipers, a special assault unit and a close combat team,\u201d Adnan Rasheed said in a video clip released by Taliban.<\/p>\n

Musharraf has demanded security cover from government<\/h2>\n

69-year-old Musharraf, who is living in exile since 2009 after handing over power to civilian government, has said he will return to Pakistan on May 24 (Sunday). \u00a0He has asked the Pakistan government to provide him security cover including a bullet proof vehicle.<\/p>\n

Sindh High Court yesterday provided a major relief to him by granting him 10-day pre-arrest bail in some of the cases registered against him. \u00a0The anti-terrorism court had declared Musharraf a fugitive and issued arrest warrants for him after he refused to cooperate with investigators probing Bhutto’s assassination.<\/p>\n

During his rule, Musharraf had allied with US and joined \u2018war on terror\u2019. He had launched a major crackdown on militants in Pakistan and declared sectarian militant outfits as outlawed.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, according to media reports Saudi officials have advised Musharraf not to return to Pakistan, citing danger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Saudis are concerned that Musharraf will be putting himself in the way of danger if he returns to Pakistan as planned. The situation in Pakistan, especially in the coming days, is going to be completely hostile to him,\u201d the \u00a0reports said.<\/p>\n

They said Saudi officials, including intelligence officials,\u00a0 held meetings with Musharraf in Dubai and told him that the Kingdom thought that he should review his plan and not fall to emotional tinge.<\/p>\n
