A court in Pakistan Thursday ordered arrest of country\u2019s former military ruler General (Retd) Parvez Musharraf.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, April 18\/Nationalturk – A court in Pakistan Thursday cancelled bail of country\u2019s former military ruler General (Retd) Parvez Musharraf and ordered his arrest.<\/p>\n

Musharraf appeared before Islamabad High Court today to seek extension in his bail in the judges\u2019 confinement case. \u00a0Large number of security men accompanied former military ruler as he appeared in court.<\/p>\n

Islamabad High Court\u2019s Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui, however, rejected his plea and cancelled his bail. The court ordered his arrest.<\/p>\n

\u201cIslamabad High Court has cancelled Musharraf\u2019s bail and ordered his arrest in the judges\u2019 detention case today,\u201d Mohammad Amjad, top office bear of Musharraf\u2019s political party — All Pakistan Muslim League \u2013 told reporters.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the court had extended his interim bail till April 18, which had expired today.<\/p>\n

According to local media, the former military ruler left the court premises after the court verdict. He drove away in a convoy escorted by his guards to \u00a0his farmhouse in Chak Shahzad on the outskirts of Islamabad.<\/p>\n

Officials said police was expected to visit his farmhouse to carry out the court orders and arrest him.<\/p>\n

Judges\u2019 detention case<\/h2>\n

The case is based on an FIR against Musharraf registered in August 11, 2009 on the complaint of a lawyer Chaudhry Mohammad Aslam Ghumman.<\/p>\n

He had asked police to initiate legal proceedings against Musharraf for detaining over 60 judges, including Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, after proclamation of a state of emergency in the country on November 3, 2007.<\/p>\n

Musharraf returned to Pakistan last month after nearly four years of self-imposed exile to contest the May 11 general election, despite the possibility of arrest on various charges and death threats from terrorists.<\/p>\n

The country\u2019s election officials have rejected Musharraf\u2019s nomination from four seats of National Assembly (Pakistan\u2019s parliament) last week and barred him from contenting elections.<\/p>\n
