Six persons were killed and 40 others injured in suicide bombing in Pakistan\u2019s in restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province this morning while dreaded militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed that they were targeting liberal politicians for security ideology.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, April 29\/Nationalturk –\u00a0 At least six people were killed and 40 others including some policemen injured in a suicide bombing in Pakistan\u2019s restive Peshawar\u2019s city on Monday.<\/p>\n

A police official said a suicide bomber travelling on a motor-cycle rammed his motorcycle in a bus on University road near Azam Tower in Peshawar in restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province this morning. .<\/p>\n

\u201cThe target of the suicide bombing was a senior administration official (Commissioner Peshawar Sahibzada Anees, whose vehicle had passed the area minutes before the explosion took place,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He said six persons were killed and dozens others including some policemen injured in the suicide bombing.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe attacker was riding a motorcycle. The blast could be result of a suicide attack. We are assessing the CCTV footage,\u201d SSP Operations Imran Shahid told media persons.<\/p>\n

Another police official said about five to six kilograms of explosives was used in the suicide bombing. \u201cPolice have found the body parts of the suspected bomber and further investigations were going on\u201d.<\/p>\n

Pakistan\u2019s newspaper The Dawn, quoted Chief executive of Khyber Teaching Hospital Dr Umer Ayub as saying that six people had died in the explosion.<\/p>\n

He said 39 injured were being treated in the hospital.<\/p>\n

The violence has increased in Pakistan ahead of national elections on May 11 with over 50 \u00a0people killed in attacks targeting politicians and political parties since April 11.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re targeting liberal politicians for secular ideology: TTP<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe first reason for attacking political parties is their secular doctrine. The second reason is that they were responsible for burning Fata, Swat and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa,\u201d TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan was quoted as saying by Pakistan\u2019s newspaper, Express Tribune.<\/p>\n

He claimed that political parties — Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) were responsible for \u2018displacement of millions of people, the plight of Pakhtun, for abandoned villages and destroyed mosques\u2019.<\/p>\n

Terming May 11 parliamentary polls as \u2018so-called general elections\u2019, \u00a0Eshan said, \u201cPakistan came into being under the banner of an Islamic doctrine, while elections are based on a secular doctrine. The two are contrary to each other because Islamic laws and values come from Allah Almighty, while the secular doctrine comes from Rousseau, Kant and Bentham.\u201d<\/p>\n

The TTP spokesman claimed responsibility for the series of bomb attacks on politicians in Karachi, Peshawar, Swabi and Kohat. \u201cA man cannot be secular and Muslim at the same time,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
