The Henan Provincial Higher People&#8217;s Court has confirmed that\u00a0 Xingong was executed yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Officials said Xingong was arrested in May 2012 on charges of raping several adolescent girls starting in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>After the trial, Shangqiu City Intermediate People&#8217;s Court sentenced him to death for raping the adolescents. The court snatched his political rights for life.<\/p>\n<p>He filed an appeal but the execution was approved by the Supreme People&#8217;s Court.<\/p>\n<h2>Top CPC official faces trial<\/h2>\n<p>The trial of a senior Communist Party of China (CPC) official alleged involved in a sex tape scandal opened in southwest China&#8217;s Chongqing Municipality on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The 55-year-old Lei Zhengfu, former secretary of Chongqing&#8217;s Beibei District Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), had been dismissed from his post and placed under judicial investigation.<\/p>\n<p>He was found to have allegedly appeared in a sex tape that was posted online last November.<\/p>\n<p>He was subsequently removed from his official post and detained by police on Feb. 1 this year.
