U-20 World cup tournament held in Turkey showed that the Turks do not have nothing to do with inthrest.<\/h1>\n

Jim Boyce, Organising Committee Chairman for FIFA U-20 World Cup Turkey 2013, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you know, Turkey are bidding to host the Olympic Games and obviously this tournament, which is going to go out worldwide, is hopefully going to show Turkey in the proper light.<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that the football public in Turkey are eagerly looking forward to this event. The FIFA Under-20 World Cup is second only to the FIFA World Cup, so I think this is a very important occasion for Turkish football and a very important occasion for Turkey as a country.\u201d<\/p>\n

But in spite of all these words, more than 1,000 people in front of matches played in the tournament.<\/p>\n

Sunday culminated another exciting day of 2013\u00a0FIFA\u00a0U-20 World Cup action, with a late comeback and stellar performances highlighting Day 3.<\/p>\n

While some of Sunday’s matches looked to be lopsided on paper, only one of them turned out to be a blowout as three of the four matches came down to the very end.<\/p>\n

With England and Uruguay highlighting the field of teams that took center stage on Sunday, we were sure to see some exciting displays of football skill, and that’s just what we got.<\/p>\n

Let’s take a look at everything you might have missed from Day 3 of the U-20 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Chile Holds On To Top Egypt, 2-1<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chile battled loads of adversity on Sunday to sneak out a 2-1 victory over Egypt and claim the top spot in Group E.<\/p>\n

Egypt would get out to an early lead in the ninth minute, when Mahmoud\u00a0Kahraba\u00a0snuckone past goalkeeper Dario\u00a0Melo. However, it wouldn’t take long for the Chileans to notch the equalizer with a game-tying goal from Nicolas Castillo in the 24th minute.<\/p>\n

The sides would remain stuck with a 1-1 scoreline until a breakthrough from Chile’s Christian Bravo in the 75th minute, a goal that would end up securing Chile’s victory.<\/p>\n

However, Egypt had a flair for the dramatic and made things close until the very end. Chile’s Cristian\u00a0Cuevas\u00a0was given a red card in the 80th minute, forcing his team to retain their one-goal lead with just 10 men.<\/p>\n

England was able to tough one result against Iraq\u00a02-2<\/strong><\/p>\n

Iraq came back from a two-goal deficit to complete a comeback late in stoppage time, earning a draw with England, 2-2.<\/p>\n

England looked poised to run away with the match and start their stranglehold over Group E after a 40th-minute goal from\u00a0Conor\u00a0Coady\u00a0and a 51st-minute goal from Luke Williams, but Iraq had other ideas.<\/p>\n

The Iraqis picked up a penalty shot in the 74th minute, which Ali\u00a0Faez\u00a0put home to cut the lead to one goal. Then, in injury time, Ali Jamil\u00a0Adnan\u00a0completed the stunning comeback.<\/p>\n

The poor result is far from a death sentence for the English, as it was just their opener in the U-20 World Cup.<\/p>\n

Croatia Tops Uruguay in Big Upset, 1-0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Uruguay are pegged to be one of the favorites heading into the U-20 World Cup, but their campaign got off to a less-than-stellar start with a 1-0 upset at the hands of Croatia.<\/p>\n

The Uruguayans attacked at will, but it was to no avail. They fired 15 shots at Croatian goalkeeper Oliver\u00a0Zelenika\u00a0and eight of them were on target, but not one was able to cross the line.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Croatia made the most of just six total shots and two shots on goal. Despite missing a 22nd-minute penalty shot, the Croatians took the lead for good when AnteRebic\u00a0notched a 40th-minute game winner.<\/p>\n

Neither side could find a second-half goal, and that gave Croatia three huge points over Uruguay on Day 3.<\/p>\n
