UEFA did not forgive swept up the mess\u00a0Turkish Football Federation, Fenerbahce\u00a0two year ban, with an additional one year and Besiktas one year ban from European Competitions.<\/h1>\n

UEFA’s Control and Disciplinary Committee has banned Be\u015fikta\u015f and Fenerbah\u00e7e from European competitions on match-fixing charges. Be\u015fikta\u015f has been banned for one year while Fenerbah\u00e7e has received a two year ban, with an additional one year that could eventually be converted into a cash fine.<\/p>\n

Be\u015fikta\u015f’s Chairman Fikret Orman said that they had not expected such a decision, adding that they would be filing an appeal and applying to the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) if necessary.<\/p>\n

The club has three days to appeal the decision. UEFA returned the report on former official Serdar Adal\u0131 and former coach Tayfur Havut\u00e7u, both sentenced to one year and three months in jail, to the inspector on the case. The inspector is said to be preparing a new report before making a definitive ruling.<\/p>\n

Both Istanbul clubs and their executives were involved in a match-fixing investigation that started July 3, 2011, regarding a number of games in the 2010-2011 season, at the end of which Fenerbah\u00e7e was crowned as champion.<\/p>\n

Fenerbah\u00e7e was banned for a year from participating to European competitions upon a decision from the Turkish Football Federation, while Be\u015fikta\u015f could not compete last year due to financial woes.<\/p>\n

UEFA Statement<\/h2>\n

The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body (CDB) today announced its decisions following the disciplinary proceedings relating to Fenerbah\u00e7e SK (Turkey), Be\u015fikta\u015f JK (Turkey), and FC Steaua Bucure\u015fti (Romania).<\/p>\n

The CDB carefully analysed the situation of both Fenerbah\u00e7e SK and Be\u015fikta\u015f JK and has pronounced the following sanctions:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Be\u015fikta\u015f JK is not eligible to participate in the 2013\/14 UEFA Europa League.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Fenerbah\u00e7e SK is excluded from participating in the next three UEFA club competitions for which it would qualify, including the 2013\/14 UEFA Champions League season. The ban for the third season is deferred for a probationary period of five years.<\/p>\n

The CDB also carefully analysed the situation of FC Steaua Bucure\u015fti and, taking into account certain mitigating circumstances, the following sanction has been imposed:<\/p>\n

\u2022 FC Steaua Bucure\u015fti is not eligible to participate in one UEFA club competition for which the club would otherwise qualify. This sanction is deferred for a probationary period of five years.<\/p>\n

All clubs have the opportunity to appeal the decisions of the CDB to the UEFA Appeals Body.<\/p>\n

Further, in relation to the individuals of the clubs involved in the cases of Fenerbah\u00e7e SK and Be\u015fikta\u015f JK, the CDB decided that certain additional information will be collected in order to consider in further detail the different position of each of the individuals concerned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
