Prince William & Duchess Kate leave St Marry’s Hospital with new born Son\u00a0World as the public got its first glimpse of the future King.<\/h1>\n

Prince William and \u00a0Duchess of Cambridge cradled their one-day-old boy in her arms as she and her husband walked out of the Lindo Wing at London’s St Mary’s Hospital.<\/p>\n

She then gently passed the fair-haired baby, swaddled in a white blanket, to William.<\/p>\n

They walked towards the waiting throngs of world media and the Prince told them jokingly in a relaxed fashion: “He’s got a good pair of lungs on him, that’s for sure.<\/p>\n

“He’s a big boy, he’s quite heavy.<\/p>\n

William also revealed they had not yet decided what to call their newborn son, saying: “We are still working on a name so we will have that as soon as we can.”<\/p>\n

He added: “It’s the first time we have seen him really so we are having a proper chance to catch up.”<\/p>\n

The Duchess said: “It’s very emotional, it’s such a special time. I think any parent will know what this\u00a0feeling feels like.”<\/p>\n

Her husband also said it was “very emotional” and ” very special”.<\/p>\n

The Duke and Duchess looked relaxed and happy as they emerged from the hospitals.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

William, wearing a light blue shirt, added: “He’s got her looks, thankfully,” while Kate replied: “No, no, I’m not sure about that.”<\/p>\n

His wife, who was wearing her sapphire and diamond engagement ring which was his late mother Diana’s,\u00a0also said her husband had already changed his first nappy.<\/p>\n

After speaking to reporters and waving at the large crowds, the couple then went back inside to put the youngster in a car seat.<\/p>\n

Moments later, they came outside for a second time and William placed the one-day-old boy in a waiting Range Rover.<\/p>\n

A smiling Prince then got behind the wheel and Kate, who was sitting on the back seat, waved with her son next to her in the baby seat.<\/p>\n

The family later return to Kensington Palace. Kate’s sister Pippa\u00a0had arrived there earlier with her boyfriend.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the Queen has said she was “thrilled” at the arrival of her great-grandson, according to a guest at a Buckingham Palace reception.<\/p>\n

The Royal baby, who will be known as the Prince of Cambridge, was born at 4.24pm on Monday, weighing 8lb 6oz (3.798kg).<\/p>\n

William was at his wife’s bedside during her labour. The Duchess spent the night in hospital, as did her husband.<\/p>\n

Celebrations have taken place in London to honour the birth of the new Royal arrival.<\/p>\n

Guardsmen marked the changing of the guard outside Buckingham Palace by playing ‘Congratulations’ and gun salutes sounded across the capital to mark the special occasion.<\/p>\n

The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery and the Honourable Artillery Company carried out the ceremonial royal salutes in honour of the new addition to the Royal Family.<\/p>\n

This included a 41-gun salute at London’s Green Park and 62 rounds fired at the Tower of London.<\/p>\n
