Pakistan\u2019s former president Asif Ali Zardari has moved an application in a court seeking adequate security because of threat to his life from dreaded militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Oct 3\/Nationalturk \u2013 In an unprecedented move, Pakistan\u2019s former president and co-chairman of opposition party Peoples Political Party (PPP) Asif Ali Zardari has moved an application in a court seeking adequate security because of threat to his life from dreaded militant outfit Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).<\/p>\n

Sources said Zardari filed an application in Sindh High Court \u00a0requesting upgradation in his security. \u201cHe has said in his application that he fears that his life is under threat from the Taliban militants\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy wife Benazir Bhutto was murdered and I fear I too may be assassinated,\u201d he said in his application.<\/p>\n

On September 8, Zardari had stepped down as president of Pakistan after completing his five-years term in the office. He earned the distinction of being the only civilian president in Pakistan\u2019s history to complete a full term in office and hand over charge to another civilian president through the ballot box.<\/p>\n

Sources said the court has admitted his application and made Chief Secretary of Sindh province, paramilitary force Rangers and Pakistan government as respondents to the petition.<\/p>\n

110 attacks in Pakistan in Nawaz\u2019s 109 day of rule<\/h2>\n

In the first 109 days of Nawaz Sharif led PML-N government, which came to power after May 11 general elections this year, 110 militant attacks had taken place across the country, causing death of hundreds of civilians and soldiers and property worth millions of dollars have been damaged. A top Pakistani general was killed when the vehicle he was travelling was blown up by Taliban militants in country\u2019s tribal areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe militants have threatened to target \u2018secular politicians of Pakistan\u2019 and Zardari figures in that hit-list,\u201d Pakistani security officials have said.<\/p>\n

300 police, paramilitary men guarding former military ruler<\/h3>\n

At least 300 police, paramilitary personnel and elite commandos are guarding country\u2019s former president and military ruler General (Retd) Parvez Musharraf at his farm house in Islamabad, Pakistan\u2019s country\u2019s where he has been detained. His farm house has been converted into a prison and security arrangements are being reviewed regularly in view of militant threat to his life.<\/p>\n
