The Sudanese state media has reported that President Omar al-Bashir of Sudan is set to travel to South Sudan for talks with President Salva Kiir.<\/h1>\n

His mission is to give possible solution that will aim at ending the violence that has gripped South Sudan since December 15.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The fighting continues unabated in South Sudan despite the government and rebels meetings in Ethiopia to try to agree an end to the conflict. The peace talk in Ethiopia is on stalemate.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is now clear that the conflict pits supporters of President Salva Kiir against rebels led by his sacked deputy, Riek Machar.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Local media in South Sudan say over 1,000 people have been killed since the fighting began in a mutiny form within the army. Many too have been forced out of their homes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

President Bashir is set to arrive in the South Sudanese capital, Juba, on Monday afternoon to discuss the crisis with President Kiir. Details of the discussion is however unknown.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But the Sudan Foreign Ministry spokesman in Khartoum was quoted by the Agence France-Presse news agency as saying that Sudan is determined to see “a continuation of the political process aimed at finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict in South Sudan”.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

International mediators including regional leaders are said to losing patience with South Sudan’s leaders whose delays are costing hundreds of lives day in and day out.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Both President Kiir and Mr. Machar were part of the Sudanese Peoples\u2019 Liberation Movement (SPLM) which fought for independence from Sudan but relation between the two worsen in less than 2 years of independence from Sudan.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The conflict has left South Sudan devastated and very volatile for its citizens and the United Nations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
