After acknowledging the heroics of 15-year-old boy, Pakistan government will give bravery award to the slain teenager, who foiled suicide attack on a school in Hangu area of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on January 6.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Jan 11\/Nationalturk \u2013 Pakistan government will give bravery award to the slain 15-year-old boy, who foiled suicide attack on a school in Hangu area of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on January 6.<\/p>\n

15-year-old Aitzaz Hasan, a student of class IX, prevented a suicide bomber from entering his school premises during the morning assembly on January 6. After detecting the suicide bomber was about to blow himself up during the morning assembly in the school, the teenager caught hold of the bomber, who detonated his explosive laden vest. The suicide bomber and the boy were killed in the bombing.<\/p>\n

The bravery of Aitzaz, who has become a national hero after he tackled the bomber, prevented loss of lives of students and teachers.<\/p>\n

According to media reports, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has recommended that Aitzaz Hasan be awarded the country\u2019s bravery award (Sitara-e-Shujaat).<\/p>\n

PM\u2019s recommendation forwarded to president<\/h2>\n

The prime minister\u2019s recommendation has been forwarded to President Mamnoon Hussain.<\/p>\n

The staff members and students of the school, where Aitzaz studied, besides politicians and civil society members had urged government to give bravery award to the boy.<\/p>\n

Aitzaz\u2019s family members said they were proud of his sacrifice. \u201cHe sacrificed his life to save that of others,\u201d said Aitzaz\u2019s father.<\/p>\n

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa \u00a0police also demanded award for Aitzaz<\/h3>\n

The police of restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have also urged government to give bravery award to the foy.<\/p>\n

“He saved the lives of hundreds of innocent students with his extreme valour and bravery,\u201d police has said.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Malala Yousafzai, who had herself survived Taliban attack miraculously, has praised Aitzaz<\/p>\n

“In sacrificing his own life, Aitzaz protected hundreds of innocent young students from being killed,” she said in a statement and described him as brave and courageous.<\/p>\n

Malala, who was last year nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize, offered condolences to his family and called for the government to award Hassan its “highest national award”.<\/p>\n

“His bravery must never be forgotten,” she said.<\/p>\n

Malala has also announced that she would give Rs 0.5 million to Aitizaz\u2019s family.<\/p>\n
