Pakistan has rejected allegations of country\u2019s involvement in terror incidents in Afghanistan and said blame-game will hit bilateral ties.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, April 1\/Nationalturk \u2013 Pakistan government has rejected allegations of country\u2019s involvement in terror incidents in Afghanistan saying such blame-game by Afghan officials will vitiate the bilateral ties between the two neighbouring countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have seen with deep regret and disappointment the statements by senior Afghan officials continuing allegations of Pakistan\u2019s involvement in terrorist incidents in Afghanistan and \u201cimpeding\u201d efforts for talks between Taliban and the High Peace Council,\u201d Pakistan Foreign office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said.<\/p>\n

She said her country rejected such allegations earlier and \u201cwe do so again\u201d.<\/p>\n

Afghanistan officials had blamed Pakistan for recent terror attacks in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cContinuation of this blame-game not only vitiates the environment of bilateral relations but also undermines our sincere efforts to rebuild trust and understanding,\u201d Aslam said.<\/p>\n

\u2018Pakistan committed to support free and fair polls in Afghanistan\u2019<\/h2>\n

The spokesperson reiterated that Pakistan remains committed to supporting all efforts for a free and fair electoral process in Afghanistan. \u201cSafe and peaceful conduct of the Afghan elections is in Pakistan\u2019s best interest, as it would strengthen the prospects of stability in Afghanistan\u201d. \u201cPakistan\u2019s support and facilitation of an inclusive Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace and reconciliation process remains sincere and steadfast. Pakistan\u2019s positive role in this context is internationally acknowledged and we are certain that attempts to mis-represent our position would not succeed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Aslam hoped that Pakistan\u2019s earnest desire and continuous efforts for close cooperative relations with Afghanistan would be duly reciprocated and a conducive environment would be maintained for the bilateral relationship to progress without any hindrance.<\/p>\n

Pakistan president visited Afghanistan<\/h3>\n

At the invitation of Afghanistan\u2019s President Hamid Karzai, Pakistan President Mamnoon Hussain visited Kabul on March 27.<\/p>\n

During his talks with Karzai, Pakistan president exchanged views on matters of common interest including bilateral relations, regional issues, and enhanced cooperation among Islamic countries.<\/p>\n

The two Presidents had agreed that terrorism and extremism posed a common threat and it was important to work together to effectively combat this menace. \u201cThe two countries must continue to strengthen mutual cooperation so that their vast potential for progress and prosperity could be optimally realized,\u201d they had said.<\/p>\n
