Kenyan officials have said that a deadly explosion in the capital, Nairobi has left at least six people dead and dozen others injured.<\/h1>\n

The attack was said to have taken place in the Eastleigh suburb of the city, leaving properties and the area very devastated and coupled with fear. The area is said to be called Little Mogadishu because of its large Somali population.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The National Disaster Operations Centre, told reporters that no group has claim responsibility of the attack but in the past, such attacks in the area of the city have been blamed on Somalia’s al Shabab militant group. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It further added on its twitter page that the security service have taken control of the area.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“Police are securing the area for emergency response services,” the disaster organization said on its official Twitter page.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Nairobi’s police commander, Benson Kibui told the Reuters African Service that the incident might have involved twin blasts. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But the BBC African Service quoted an eyewitness who said the devices which exploded appeared to have been thrown towards a bus stop and a food kiosk as people made their way home for the evening on late Monday.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Similar attack in December last year in the same area killed four people. Kenya has seen a series of attacks this year. Two men were arrested last month with explosive devices in Mombasa.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Four people were shot dead by unknown gunmen last week when they were holding their usual Sunday Church service near Mombasa.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

President Uhuru Kenyatta has said that the country\u2019s tourism sector is gradually declining because of recent attacks by these militants.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Last year, Al Shabab attacked the Westgate Shopping Mall in the capital, Nairobi in which they killed 68 people.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Al Shabab militants have launched several attacks on Kenya in what it described as Kenya violating its territorial integrity. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Kenya has several thousand troops in Somalia, helping the UN-backed government tackle al-Shabab to stabilize the country.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
