In good news for people of Pakistan, country\u2019s dreaded militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has extended unilateral ceasefire till April 10.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, April 4\/Nationalturk \u2013 A day after Pakistan government released 19 prisoners of dreaded militant group Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the militant group Friday announced extension of unilateral ceasefire till April 10.<\/p>\n

\u201cTTP is once again showing seriousness and responsibility, and in order to wait for an answer from the government, is extending the ceasefire until April 10,\u201d TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid told media groups in Pakistan.<\/p>\n

He said for the sake of peace, TTP acted responsibly and sincerely in holding talks while putting up easy terms and conditions.<\/p>\n

The government TTP are presently involved in talks to end the turmoil and bloodshed in the country in which thousands of lives have been lost.<\/p>\n

\u2018Militants directed to stop terror activities\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe directives have been issued to put on hold terror activities against the government and security forces,\u201d Taliban spokesman said and claimed that government failed to deliver good results and better news.<\/p>\n

Shahid said the Taliban shura extended the deadline and would sit after April 10 to decide about the future of talks.<\/p>\n

\u201cTaliban were still awaiting a reply from the government regarding the group\u2019s demands, including the release of non-combatants, but despite the passage of three days above the ceasefire deadline, the government had not yet responded to the TTP,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

TTP announced unilateral ceasefire on March 11<\/h3>\n

The militant group had declared unilateral ceasefire on March 1 in an effort to revive the peace initiative which had collapsed following the slaying of 23 paramilitary troops by the group.<\/p>\n

Responding to militant group\u2019s unilateral ceasefire, the civilian government called off surgical air strikes against Taliban hideouts in the tribal areas.<\/p>\n

The government and Taliban negotiators have held some round of talks and more talks wil be held in the coming day.<\/p>\n

In order to continue the peace process, Pakistan government yesterday released 19 TTP prisoners.<\/p>\n

According to Pakistan\u2019s Interior ministry officials those released were non-combatant prisoners. \u201cThree prisoners were released on March 21, five on March 25 while 11 on March 28,\u201d the officials said.<\/p>\n
