Indian Prime Minister\u2019s former advisor Sanjaya Baru has said that PM Manmohan Singh is weakest PM and Congress president Sonia Gandhi was super PM.<\/h1>\n

New Delhi, April 12\/Nationalturk \u2013 With Indian ruling Congress party already facing tough time in ongoing general elections, country\u2019s Prime Minister\u2019s former advisor Sanjaya Baru has said that PM Manmohan Singh is weakest PM and Congress president Sonia Gandhi was super PM.<\/p>\n

\u201cSonia Gandhi was the super Prime Minister and Manmohan Singh had been reduced to being an object of ridicule. It is no secret that Sonia was the super Prime Minister.\u00a0 The files went to her,\u201d Baru told Indian TV news channel CNN-IBN.<\/p>\n

Earlier, in his book titled \u201cThe Accidental Prime Minister,\u201d he has written that PM Manmohan Singh surrendered to pressure from Sonia Gandhi and allies.<\/p>\n

\u201cSingh was defanged by the Congress in his second term with Sonia deciding on key appointments to the Cabinet and to the PMO, as he seemed to “surrender” to her and to the allies,\u201d it read.<\/p>\n

Baru was Indian PM\u2019s media advisor from 2004-8<\/h2>\n

Baru, who was a senior editor and Indian PM’s Media Adviser between 2004 and 2008, has stated that PM Singh once told him that there cannot be two centres of power. “That creates confusion. I have to accept that the party president is the centre of power. The government is answerable to the party,” the PM told him, according to the 301-page book, published by Penguin.<\/p>\n

The book has cited several instances when PM Singh had to cut sorry mark and agree to suggestions or proposals of Sonia Gandhi.<\/p>\n

\u2018PM had opposed induction of tainted ministers\u2019<\/h3>\n

Baru\u2019s book says PM Singh had opposed induction of some tainted men as ministers but had to induct them after Sonia Gandhi vetoed him.<\/p>\n

\u201cNobody in PM Singh’s council of ministers seemed to feel that he owed his position, rank or portfolio to him,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

Indian opposition party rightwing BJP has been accusing PM Singh of being the weakest PM in India. They had been alleging that Congress president Sonia Gandhi was running the government with a remote.<\/p>\n
