After hue and cry within and outside Pakistan, police Saturday informed a local court that it had quashed case against the baby and struck his name from FIR.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, April 12\/Nationalturk -After facing embarrassment for registering murder case against nine-month old baby, police Saturday informed a local court in Pakistan\u2019s Punjab province that it had quashed case against the baby and struck his name from FIR.<\/p>\n

The bail-period of 9-month-old baby Mohammad Musa, who was charged with attempted murder, expired today. \u00a0The judge had earlier granted bail to Musa against bail bonds worth Rs50,000, but he had to appear before the court today.<\/p>\n

His family members brought him to a Sessions Court in Lahore in Pakistan\u2019s Punjab province for the case’s hearing. \u00a0He was sitting on his grandfather’s lap and drinking from a bottle of milk.<\/p>\n

During the hearing, a police inspector informed the court and family that the baby’s name was removed from FIR.<\/p>\n

Court issues show cause notice to policeman<\/h2>\n

Afterwards, the court issued a show-cause notice to a policeman for charging 9-month old baby in murder.<\/p>\n

The court called it serious dereliction of duty.<\/p>\n

On February 1, the case was registered against members of a family (including baby Musa) and dozens of other inhabitants of Muslim Town after they allegedly attacked a bailiff and a raiding team of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL) after it went there to arrest people involved in gas theft.<\/p>\n

The baby’s grandfather, Mohammad Yasin, and his three sons still face the charges.<\/p>\n

The pictures of Musa crying while he was being fingerprinted during early court hearing had provoked widespread criticism following with officials called for an inquiry. A policemen has been suspended by authorities.<\/p>\n
