An avalanche on Mount Everest has torn at least twelve people dead on Friday. For all victims if they were believed to be indigenous mountain people – so-called Sherpa who were working prior to the start of the climbing season below the peak, divided by the Nepalese authorities.<\/p>\n

After the avalanche early Friday morning several helicopters were sent to the accident site between Camp 1 and Camp 2, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Tourism in Kathmandu . Even Sherpas had risen to search the mountain for survivors.

The rescue forces have already recovered several dead and now trying to recover more bodies buried under the snow , said Ang Tshering Sherpa , president of the Nepalese climber Association . The avalanche broke up after his statement around 6:45 clock at an altitude of 5800 meters in the so called popcorn box , which is on the route to the treacherous Khumbu Icefall . Many other climbers have been injured by the snow , but there is no exact number .<\/p>\n

As a spokesman for the Ministry of Tourism said that the Sherpas wanted to prepare a route to the summit. “Until now, we know that 14 climbers fixed equipment and luggage in the disaster area. Exactly how many were affected by them , is still unclear. ”<\/p>\n

The Mount Everest is 8848 meters the highest mountain in the world . Every year hundreds of climbers attempt the grueling climb to the ” Roof of the World ” . More than 300 climbers lost their previously killed.<\/p>\n
