{"id":4983,"date":"2010-04-02T15:28:25","date_gmt":"2010-04-02T12:28:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=4983"},"modified":"2010-04-05T12:13:06","modified_gmt":"2010-04-05T09:13:06","slug":"25-million-cocaine-us-seized-colombia-87684983","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/25-million-cocaine-us-seized-colombia-87684983\/","title":{"rendered":"$25m worth of Cocaine bound to US seized in Colombia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"font-size: 1.5em;\">A reported 738 kilogram of cocaine has been seized in Southwest Colombia.<\/h1>\n<figure id=\"attachment_4984\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4984\" style=\"width: 360px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-4984\" title=\"Colombia seize 738 kg drugs\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/Colombia-seize-738-kg-drugs.jpg\" alt=\"A Officer from the Colombian intellegence agency stacking the drugs, with an estimated street value of $25 M - Photo: EFE \/ CARLOS ORTEGA\" width=\"360\" height=\"210\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-4984\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A Officer from the Colombian intellegence agency stacking the drugs, with an estimated street value of $25 M - Photo: EFE \/ CARLOS ORTEGA<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2><strong>The Colombian intelligence service seized over 738kg of cocaine which was hidden in secret compartments of two trucks which were parked in the town of Yumbo, Valle del Cauca.<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>According to a statement from the DAS, Colombia&#8217;s state intelligence service, the drugs were bound to the United States and with the street value being an estimated $25 million.<\/p>\n<p>The DAS officials said on Thursday that the cocaine was located by detectives within two trucks in secret compartments.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities believe the cargo was on it&#8217;s way to the west of the country where the cargo could be shipped to the United States via the Pacific Ocean.<\/p>\n<p>There were no arrests during the operation and the Colombian police are still looking for the people who own the trucks.<\/p>\n<p>Officials believe that the drugs might belong to the Norte del Valle Cartel, which is the biggest and most dangerous drugs organisation in Valle del Cauca.<\/p>\n<p>Colombia is currently the biggest cocaine producing country, in the world with 90% of the entire world belonging to the Latin American country as well as 70% of all coca plants in the entire world which cocaine is made of.<\/p>\n<p>The $25 million dollar seize is no doubt\u00a0a blow to the Colombian drug cartel but is a very small proportion of the drug compared to the street value of Cocaine in 2005 at $70 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Nationalturk Latin America<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #f00;\">Error, group does not exist!
