Kenyan Oscar award winning star, Lupita Nyong\u2019o has announced that she has been included to play a role in the American epic space opera movie, Star Wars episode VII.<\/h1>\n

Lupita Nyong\u2019o won the Oscar for the best Supporting Role for the first time with movie of \u201c12 Years A Slave\u201d in March this year. This shot her into the spot light with reports that many movie producers chasing her.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

“I could not be more excited about Lupita Nyong\u2019o and Gwendoline joining the cast of Episode VII, it’s thrilling to see this extraordinarily talented ensemble taking shape”, said Kathleen Kennedy, president of Lucas film, which was founded by Star Wars creator George Lucas and now owned by Walt Disney. Gwendoline Christie has also been included in this new series of the movie.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lupita and Gwendoline will join famous faces in the movie such as Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But Lupita did not disclose the specific role she would be playing but it is believed she will play a vital role in the movie which is due to be release on 18 December 2015.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Also included in the new series are Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker who are all well known stars.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Star Wars is an epic space opera franchise centered on a fictional film series and books. It was created by the famous American film director, George Lucas.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lupita Nyong\u2019o debuted in Kenya with her production \u2018In My Genes\u2019 and her starring role in Music Television sex education film \u2018Shuga\u2019 (2009). She was born in Mexico to Kenyan parents and raised in Kenya.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She graduated from Yale School of Drama and acting program in the United States of America at a very tender age.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

She first starred in her movie career in the Kenyan television series Shuga and in 2009, she wrote, directed, and produced the documentary In My Genes, about the treatment of Kenya\u2019s albino population in Kenya.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Lupita\u2019s stage credits include playing Perdita in The Winter\u2019s Tale, (Yale Repertory Theater), Sonya in Uncle Vanya, Katherine in The Taming of the Shrew, as well as being in the original production of Michael Mitnick\u2019s Elijah.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Apart from winning the Oscar\u2019s ward in March this year, in April also, she was named by the People Magazine as the most beautiful person on earth.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
