Her most recent role was a guest slot in the hit series \u2018Desperate Housewives\u2019 as the mother in law of character Bree Hodge.<\/p>\n<p>Dixie Carter made her final film appearance in the flick \u2018The Evening Sun\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>In 1984 Carter married Holbrook, whom she had met doing a 1980 television film, The Killing of Randy Webster.<\/p>\n<p>Holbrook was nominated for best supporting actor in 2008 for his role in Sean Penn&#8217;s film Into the Wild.<\/p>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #f00;\">Error, group does not exist!
