In 2012-13, India imported 1013.92 tons of gold and this year so far India has imported 670.41 tons \u00a0of gold,\u201d Indian Minister of State for Commerce &amp; Industry, \u00a0Nirmala Sitharaman informed lawmakers in Rajya Sabha, the upper house of Indian parliament today.<\/p>\n<p>Asked whether there was any figure about gold smuggled in the country, she said, \u201cThere are no such figures available regarding estimate of smuggled gold\u201d.<\/p>\n<h2>\u2018About 500 kgs of smuggled gold seized in 3 yrs\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>The minister said Customs, including Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, seized about 500 kgs of gold being smuggled into the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2011, 153.26 Kgs of gold was seized.
