{"id":52225,"date":"2014-07-10T11:44:02","date_gmt":"2014-07-10T08:44:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=52225"},"modified":"2014-07-10T11:44:02","modified_gmt":"2014-07-10T08:44:02","slug":"india-receives-0-82-million-complaints-from-indian-workers-in-abroad-52225","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/india-receives-0-82-million-complaints-from-indian-workers-in-abroad-52225\/","title":{"rendered":"India receives 0.82 million complaints from Indian workers in abroad"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_52226\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-52226\" style=\"width: 259px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-52226\" alt=\"Indian flag.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/Indian-Flag-Nationalturk-10.jpg\" width=\"259\" height=\"194\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-52226\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Indian flag.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h1>At least 0.82 million complaints were received by Indian government from its nationals working outside country in 2014.<\/h1>\n<p>New Delhi, July 10\/Nationalturk &#8211; Indian government received 0.82 million complaints from Indian nationals working abroad in April 2013-March 2014.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cComplaints from Indian workers received from time to time are generally in the nature of non-payment\/ delayed payment or underpayment of salaries, long working hours, inadequate living conditions, physical harassment, non-renewal of visa and labour card on time, refusal to pay for the medical treatment, denial of leave and air-ticket to the hometown on completion of period of contract, refusal of leave or exit\/re-entry permits, etc,\u201d Indian Minister of State Overseas Indian Affairs General (Retd) V K Singh informed lawmakers in \u00a0Lok Sabha, lower house of Indian parliament.<\/p>\n<p>He said there is marginal increase in emigration to some of the Gulf countries.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2011, 649794 complaints were received.
