Police in Tanzanian have said that they have arrested eight people from the Institute of Medical and Training University (IMTU) over discovery of human dead body parts.<\/h1>\n

Local reporters say the arrest was made after 85 bags containing body parts were found in the Tanzanian largest city of Dar es Salaam. The bodies were said to be in a decomposing state.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Human body parts such as limbs, fingers, ribs and skulls were in the bags and were discovered in a landfill site in the central Bunju suburb of the city.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Police said they have evidence to suggest that the body parts were from the Medical Institute because some of the bags contained surgical instruments and used disposable gloves. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Dar es Salaam police Chief, Suleiman Kova told the BBC African Service that those arrested have links to the Medical Institute\u2019s human body anatomy department but failed to give further detail on the exact intelligence that led to their arrest. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But eyewitnesses told reporters that they saw truck repeatedly dumping black plastic bags weighing approximately 25kg at the landfill site. They add that they became suspicious and quickly informed the police.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is unclear where the body parts might have came from but many say they believe were used in the Medical Institute\u2019s laboratory for practice by the medical students.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

But Police say they carrying out a thorough investigations into the matter to ascertain why the body parts were dumped in such an area if that is the case that it were truly used by the medical students.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Tanzania is one of the African countries where black magic is somehow prevalent and some suspect that the bodies might have been used by sorcerers for rituals by those who seek blood money.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
