A year after election, Pakistan is again heading towards political turmoil as two major parties are preparing for agitations to bring \u201crevolution\u201d.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Aug 7\/Nationalturk \u2013 Pakistan is heading towards political turmoil as two parties having mass base are preparing for agitations to bring \u201crevolution\u201d and \u201coverthrow\u201d the elected government of Prime Minister Nawaz\u00a0 Sharif.<\/p>\n

Pakistan\u2019s opposition party Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) of cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan and religious and political party of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) of cleric Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri have called for long marches to bring revolution and \u201coverthrow\u201d the elected government<\/p>\n

Qadri has given call for observance of \u201cMartyrs Day\u201d on August 10 to remember the party workers killed in police action in country\u2019s Punjab province early this year and pay homage to Pakistani soldiers killed during military operation in country\u2019s North Waziristan Tribal Agency.<\/p>\n

In response to his call, men and women have started camping in tents outside PAT chief’s residence in Lahore.<\/p>\n

Police cracksdown on PAT<\/h2>\n

Police has launched a crackdown on PAT leaders and activists in some parts of Punjab in the run-up to the \u201cMartyrs Day\u201d, arresting some of them.<\/p>\n

PAT has alleged that over 100 activists and workers of the party have been detained by the policemen so far.<\/p>\n

Qadri has warned that if the government crackdown against his supporters continued, \u201cMartyrs Day\u201d on August 10 would be turned into \u2018Revolution Day\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe country would become a battleground for revolution if I am arrested,\u201d he said in response to a question.<\/p>\n

Police has booked Qadri for \u2018waging war\u2019 against the State.<\/p>\n

Imran\u2019s ”Freedom March” on August 14<\/h3>\n

Imran Khan has called for long march named \u201cAzadi (freedom) March\u201d on August 14 to dislodge the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. He has alleged that Sharif\u2019s government came to power through massive poll rigging.<\/p>\n

PTI leadership has closed door of negotiations with the government and the party has started mobilising its supporters for the march at Islamabad\u2019s D-Chowk where it hopes to gather one million people on August 14.<\/p>\n

Terming his \u2018Azadi March\u2019 a decisive phase in the country\u2019s history, Imran said the event will pave the way for democracy and independence in their true sense and spirit.<\/p>\n

He\u00a0 has warned government that if it hindered the course of peaceful protest, it would trigger the sanguinary revolution. \u201cThe Freedom March on August 14 would not stop at any cost,\u201d he has said.<\/p>\n

In view of political uncertainty in the capital, Pakistan government has invoked Article-245 of the Constitution and deployed army in capital.<\/p>\n
