File Pic<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h1>There is no let up in political uncertainty in Pakistan and country\u2019s parliament is holding an emergency meeting to discuss the prevailing situation.<\/h1>\n<p>Islamabad, Sept 2\/Nationalturk \u2013 The political uncertainty continues in Pakistan and country\u2019s parliament is holding an emergency meeting to discuss the situation that has arisen following protests by thousands of people demanding resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.<\/p>\n<p>Thousands of supporters of two opposition parties &#8212; Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by cricketer turned politician Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) of cleric and politician Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri \u2013 are staging sit-in outside country\u2019s Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by cricketer turned politician Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) of cleric and politician Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri have been staging \u201cfreedom\u201d and \u201crevolution\u201d marches since August 14 outside country\u2019s Red Zone housing Parliament, PM House, President\u2019s House, Supreme court and embassies of some countries. They are demanding resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.<\/p>\n<p>Khan and Qadri are not officially allied but both are calling for the ouster of a government they condemn as corrupt, which came to power after a sweeping General Election victory for the party of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif last year.<\/p>\n<h2>Imran alleges that last year\u2019s election were rigged<\/h2>\n<p>Khan alleges that last year\u2019s general elections in the country were rigged while Qadri has been demanding registration of FIR and dismissal of PM Nawaz Sharif and his brother, Shahbaz Sharif, who is Chief Minister of Pakistan\u2019s populous State Punjab of death of 14 of his supporters in police firing on June 17.<\/p>\n<p>On Saturday evening, police used force to when the protestors tried to march towards Prime Minister\u2019s residence. At least three protestors were killed and over 600 injured in the police action. The police action has been widely condemned and country\u2019s army has asked the civilian government to resolve the issue politically and don\u2019t use force against the protestors.<\/p>\n<p>Pakistan\u2019s Parliament is holding a joint emergency session to discuss the deepening political crisis that has triggered violence and brought the powerful army at the centre stage.<\/p>\n<p>By convening a joint session of parliament, where Sharif has a solid majority, PM Nawaz Sharif will try to reaffirm that he is fully in control of the situation and won\u2019t resign.<\/p>\n<h3>Protests are rebellion against country: Interior Minister<\/h3>\n<p>While addressing the session, Pakistan\u2019s Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said the ongoing protests led by Imran Khan and cleric Qadri area rebellion against the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome people are fooling the nation by giving references of western democracy.
