An influential Muslim religious group in Pakistan has termed Islamic State in Iraq and Syria as \u201canti-Islamic\u201d.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Oct 2\/Nationalturk – An influential Muslim religious group in Pakistan has termed Islamic State in Iraq and Syria as \u201canti-Islamic\u201d and appealed youth not to join such extremist organisations, which promote violence.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that there is no room for extremism and terrorism in Islam and no group or individual can be given the authority to kill innocent people. Likewise, we believe that leaders of any country do not have the right to kill their opponents, or make their lives difficult on the basis of religion or sect,\u201d said Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) chairman and influential Muslim leader Hafiz Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi.<\/p>\n

The PUC termed killing of innocent people against the teachings of Islam and said IS is \u201canti-Islamic.<\/p>\n

\u2018Youth should not join groups promoting violence\u2019<\/h2>\n

\u201cThe Muslim youth should not join such organisations like Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, which promote violence,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

The PUC \u00a0has decided to approach the institutions for issuing religious decrees and leaders of the Muslim world to present a unanimous opinion on the prevailing situation in Iraq and Syria.<\/p>\n

The group, however, asked Muslim rulers and international community to ponder over the factors that lead to forming of organisations like IS and inducing the young people to adopt the path of violence and extremism.<\/p>\n

\u2018Atrocities committed in Syria, Iraq responsible for IS fame\u2019<\/h3>\n

\u201cThe atrocities committed by Syrian president Bashar al-Assad and his father Hafez al-Assad in Syria and by the rulers of post-Saddam Hussein Iraq as the factors behind the current expression of violence by Muslim youth,\u201d PUC said adding denial of rights to a specific Muslim sect and constantly treating them in a brutal way is responsible for growing popularity of IS in the Iraq and Syria.<\/p>\n

The group, however, asserted that dialogue is the solution to all global issues, including inter-faith or inter-sectarian problems.<\/p>\n
