Pakistan terrorist group, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman and five senior commanders have pledged allegiance to \u00a0Islamic State (IS) and its head Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Oct 15\/Nationalturk \u2013 Six commanders of dreaded Pakistani terrorist group, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), have vowed allegiance to \u00a0Islamic State (IS) and its head Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.<\/p>\n

According to media reports, TTP spokesman Shahidullah Shahid alongwith five other commanders of the outfit have announced their allegiance to IS and its head Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi.<\/p>\n

\u201cI and five other TTP commanders pledge allegiance to caliph of Muslims Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi,\u201d said Shahid in a statement issued in Arabic and Urdu.<\/p>\n

He said he is confirming his allegiance to Al-Baghdadi and would abide by all his decisions, whatever is the order, and whatsoever the circumstances. \u201cI shall be loyal to him and obey his orders\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said five other TTP commanders including TTP chief for Orakzai Agency Saeed Khan, TTP\u2019s Kurram Agency chapter chief Daulat Khan, Fateh Gul Zaman, TTP\u2019s Peshawar chief\u00a0 Mufti Hassan and TTP\u2019s Hangu chief Khalid Mansoor, have also announced\u00a0 allegiance to IS.<\/p>\n

Shahid, however, said their statement had nothing to do with TTP.<\/p>\n

TTP chief Mullah Fazllulah had extended his support to Al-Baghdadi but had not announced his allegiance to IS.<\/p>\n

TTP weakened by military operation, internal rivalries<\/h2>\n

The TTP, which was one of the fear terrorist groups, has been weakened over the months due to military operation in North Waziristan since June 15 this year and internal rivalries.<\/p>\n

TTP, which has also been\u00a0 designated a terrorist organisation by the US, is\u00a0 allied with al Qaeda, and operates mainly in Pakistan\u2019s loosely-governed northwestern tribal areas near the border with Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

The militants of TTP are on the run and Pakistan army has destroyed their command centre in North Waziristan. Over 900 TTP militants have been killed in the military operation so far and large cache of arms and ammunition have been recovered besides discovery of IED making and bomb making factories.<\/p>\n

Security experts have expressed concerns that IS may be trying to make inroads in South Asia, especially Pakistan, Afghanistan which is presently witnessing turmoil. They fear the turmoil in the region may further increase.<\/p>\n
