Pakistan army is likely to extend ongoing military operation in country\u2019s other tribal areas to get rid of terrorists.<\/h1>\n

Islamabad, Oct 20\/Nationalturk \u2013 Pakistan army is likely to extend ongoing military operation against terrorists in country\u2019s North Waziristan tribal region to other tribal areas to get rid of terrorists and terror networks.<\/p>\n

According to media reports, Pakistan military helicopters dropped leaflets in Bara and Jamrud tehsils of Khyber Agency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provice.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the leaflets, militants were asked to surrender and lay down their weapons. The leaflets dropped on Sunday gave militants 36 hours to surrender before security forces or be ready for the military operation,\u201d sources said.<\/p>\n

They said security officials made announcements through public address systems in mosques in Bara and other areas asking the militants to renounce violence and surrender.<\/p>\n

Major operation likely \u00a0in Khyber agency<\/h2>\n

Sources said security officials are mulling to launch a major operation against terrorists in the Khyber agency to flush out and eliminate the militants hiding there. \u201cThere are reports that some militants had managed to escape from North Waziristan, where army launched military operation named Zarb-e-Azb on June 15 this year, and taken refuge in the region and indulging in terrorist activities\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to Pakistani security officials militants hiding in North Waziristan fled to within \u00a0operation area, other tribal areas, major cities in the country and Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe army have pushed \u00a0militants out of their hideouts but some are still hiding in Shawal Valley,\u201d they said adding security officials are planning to enter the valley to eliminate terrorists and their hide-outs and safe havens there before December this year.<\/p>\n

After the launch of military operation in North Waziristan tribal agency, Pakistan military jets have been bombing terrorist positions in other tribal agencies.<\/p>\n

The terrorist violence has witnessed considerable decrease in Pakistan after the military operation was launched in North Waziristan. Pakistan security forces have foiled some terrorist attacks, including attacks on airports and other government installations.<\/p>\n
