The SRCU also reported fierce clashes in Kobani following the blast.<\/p>\n
Local Turkish government officials told Anadolu Agency that clashes between Daesh and Syrian-Kurdish fighters from the YPG \u2013 the military wing of the Syrian Democratic Union Party \u2013 have recently intensified in central Kobani.<\/p>\n
They stated that the bomb blast occurred near Turkey’s Mursitpinar border crossing in the Suruc district of southeastern Sanliurfa province in the early hours of Thursday.<\/p>\n
Anadolu Agency correspondents at the scene reported that the wounded from the blast were rushed through Mursitpinar crossing into Turkey and taken in ambulances to Suruc State Hospital and other facilities in Sanliurfa.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, a crowd has gathered on the Syrian side of the Turkish frontier, prompting security forces to step up measures on the border line.<\/p>\n
In the past few weeks, Turkey has been witnessing another massive inflow of Syrian refugees from the city of Tal Abyad and nearby areas, as they flee clashes between Daesh and the YPG.<\/p>\n
On Monday, the YPG and opposition groups \u2013 operating under the name of Burkan al-Firat \u2013 took the northern Syrian village of Ali Bajiliyah near Raqqa \u2013 considered a Daesh stronghold \u2013 according to eyewitnesses.<\/p>\n
A U.S.-led international coalition has been providing support to the YPG.<\/p>\n
YPG forces, working in tandem with Burkan al-Firat, recently seized control of Tal Abyad, after which the YPG reportedly forced other opposition factions to leave the city.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
