{"id":58640,"date":"2017-03-20T12:55:43","date_gmt":"2017-03-20T12:55:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=58640"},"modified":"2017-03-20T12:55:43","modified_gmt":"2017-03-20T12:55:43","slug":"uk-to-begin-brexit-process-on-march-29","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/uk-to-begin-brexit-process-on-march-29\/","title":{"rendered":"UK to begin Brexit process on March 29"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Government confirms it will trigger Lisbon Treaty&#8217;s Article 50, beginning Britain&#8217;s EU departure<\/h2>\n<p>The U.K. will trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty on March 29 &#8212; marking the formal beginning of Britain\u2019s departure from the European Union &#8212; the government confirmed on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The U.K.\u2019s ambassador to the EU, Sir Tim Farrow, is reported to have notified the EU that it will receive a letter formally beginning the U.K.\u2019s exit process from the 28-country bloc.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Theresa May, who is in Cardiff as part of meetings with the U.K.\u2019s devolved governments, is expected to make a statement on March 29 in the House of Commons.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State for Exiting the EU, David Davis, also said May would trigger the Brexit legislation next week.<\/p>\n<p>He said: \u201cLast June, the people of the U.K. made the historic decision to leave the EU.
