The protesters who through stones at the police retaliated with tear gas.<\/h2>\n<figure id=\"attachment_5890\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-5890\" style=\"width: 338px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5890\" title=\"Greece riots\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Greece-riots.jpg\" alt=\"Scenes of protests at Athens and many areas in the country\" width=\"338\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Greece-riots.jpg 338w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Greece-riots-180x120.jpg 180w, https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/Greece-riots-280x186.jpg 280w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 338px) 100vw, 338px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-5890\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Scenes of protests at Athens and many areas in the country<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The thousands of people who gathered in front of the parliament chanted for MP&#8217;s and parliamentarians to come out while one man was even heard shouting out of a tannoy &#8220;we must rise against the IMF JUNTA&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The huge strike carried out by public sector workers include, air traffic controllers which has grounded all flight too and from the country, doctors, the ambulance service, The Federation of Civil Aviation, engineers, journalists and Railway workers.<\/p>\n<p>The public transport service has also been effected with strikes from 10am to 4 pm during the day so that protesters who are supporting the strike can attend demonstrations.<\/p>\n<p>The strike literally paralysed the country with workers of so many important sectors, all going on strike at the same time.<\/p>\n<p>The strike has been put on after the Greek government announced drastic spending cuts as a measure for the loan the country will be getting from the European Union\u00a0and International Monetary Fund (IMF)which was decided on before the loan was approved.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed cuts by the Greek government is a condition for the loan the country will receive from the EU and the IMF and is trying to cut 30 billion euros ($38 Billion) from their spending money.<\/p>\n<p>This situation is angering Greece&#8217;s ordinary workers as they believe, they are paying the price for the economic crisis which has been caused by corrupt politicians.<\/p>\n<p>Some union leaders have even said &#8220;The cuts are savage attacks on workers rights&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Leavue your comments and thoughts bellow<\/strong><\/p>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #f00;\">Error, group does not exist!
