The Istanbul Police Department’s Counter-Terrorism Unit teams began operations to capture the three top ranking members of Daesh responsible for planning and directing attacks, a police official, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on talking to the media, told Anadolu Agency.<\/p>\n
A number of documents and digital material linked with Daesh terrorist group have also been seized during the raids in two different districts of Istanbul.<\/p>\n
Police have launched an investigation.<\/p>\n
Turkey has long suffered Daesh\u2019s deadly terror attacks, which includes the October 2015 Ankara train station bombing that killed more than 100 people.<\/p>\n
According to a statement recently released by Turkish Ministry of Interior, security forces have carried out 1,285 counter-terrorism operations on Sept. 4-10.<\/p>\n
It said there were 601 arrests, including 117 suspects for aiding and abetting the PKK terrorists, 27 linked to Daesh, 451 linked to FETO, and six linked to leftist terrorist groups.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
