{"id":59968,"date":"2018-02-07T13:31:50","date_gmt":"2018-02-07T13:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=59968"},"modified":"2019-03-30T19:00:21","modified_gmt":"2019-03-30T19:00:21","slug":"visa-liberalization-to-accelerate-turkey-eu-relations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/visa-liberalization-to-accelerate-turkey-eu-relations\/","title":{"rendered":"Visa liberalization to accelerate Turkey-EU relations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Turkish presidential spokesperson said visa liberalization with the European Union in 2018 will boost the country\u2019s relations with the EU states.<\/h2>\n<p>Speaking at a news briefing in Ankara, Ibrahim Kalin said they expect the visa-free regime to be realized soon.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The launch of this [visa liberation] in 2018 will accelerate Turkey-EU relations,&#8221; said Kalin.<\/p>\n<p>Kalin said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will participate in a Turkey-EU summit scheduled to be held in Bulgaria\u2019s Varna city on March 26.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Wednesday, Turkish EU Affairs Minister Omer Celik said Ankara had finalized a draft document for Turkish citizens to travel to Schengen countries visa-free and would be submitting it to the EU Commission soon.<\/p>\n<p>Under a EU-Turkey readmission agreement signed in March 2016, Ankara is supposed to readmit all irregular asylum seekers who reach Greek islands from Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>Visa liberalization for Turkish citizens traveling to Schengen zone countries is one of the key EU promises made under the deal.<\/p>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; color: #f00;\">Error, group does not exist!
