We will soon file a writ petition in Supreme Court of India to challenge the\u00a0 lower court\u2019s verdict,\u201d Geelani said in a statement issued here.<\/h2>\n<p>On April 22, 2010 District and Sessions Judge Delhi S P Garg awarded death penalty to three persons including two Kashmiris for their alleged involvement in 1996 bombing case in Indian capital. At least 13 persons died in the bombing.<\/p>\n<p>He said the alliance of separatist groups headed by him have nominated Mian Abdul Qayoom (Kashmir Bar Association president) and Sayeed Abdul Rehman Geelani for supervising legal assistance in the 1996 bombing case. \u201cBesides they will be providing legal\u00a0 assistance to other Kashmiris, who have been languishing in Indian jails since years,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, a spokesman of Geelani said people have responded positively to Geelani&#8217;s appeal for donation for providing legal assistance to the convicts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The government employees, traders, contractors and common people are visiting in large numbers to Geelani&#8217;s office and contributing towards the fund as per their capacity.
