{"id":61761,"date":"2018-10-01T10:53:56","date_gmt":"2018-10-01T09:53:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=61761"},"modified":"2018-10-01T10:53:56","modified_gmt":"2018-10-01T09:53:56","slug":"turkish-woman-dedicates-her-life-to-orphans-in-istanbul","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/turkish-woman-dedicates-her-life-to-orphans-in-istanbul\/","title":{"rendered":"Turkish woman dedicates her life to orphans in Istanbul"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Oya Kayacik has been looking after orphan children in Istanbul&#8217;s Kasimpasa neighborhood for 60 years.<\/h2>\n<p>An octogenarian Turkish woman dedicated most of her life to orphans in Kasimpasa neighborhood of Istanbul&#8217;s Beyoglu district.<\/p>\n<p>Oya Kayacik, who has been caring for orphans in Kasimpasa Children&#8217;s Houses Site for 60 years, shared her long-term journey with Anadolu Agency.<\/p>\n<p>Kayacik never got married or had children, only chased her passion for helping the deprived children.<\/p>\n<p>She said she lost track of time while taking care of the children&#8217;s needs all those years.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I have considered it [Children&#8217;s Houses Site] as my home. When you stay at any place for many years, it becomes like your own,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>Kayacik said when she came to the orphanage for working, nobody believed that she will stay for this long.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I do not know how it happened [\u2026] I could not think anything else other than staying here,&#8221; she added.<\/p>\n<p>Kayacik said she never looked at the children with the eye of an administrator or teacher. &#8220;I was one of them.
