Mahershala Ali, who played renowned pianist Don Shirley in the film, took home the Golden Globe for best supporting actor.<\/p>\n
While Hollywood uncharacteristically stayed away from politics for most of Sunday night, Christian Bale made several barbs at former Vice President Dick Cheney after winning the best actor award in a musical or comedy for his portrayal of the Haliburton CEO, who became what many regard as the White House’s most powerful number two.<\/p>\n
“Thank you to Satan for giving me inspiration on how to play this role,” Bale said after winning for his performance in the political satire film Vice.<\/p>\n

Glenn Close won the best actress in a drama globe for her portrayal of the spouse of a Nobel prize-winner in the Wife.<\/p>\n
On the television side of the night, Netflix and FX tied for most awards won, with FX’s The Americans winning for best drama series and the Assassination of Gianni Versace winning best limited series.<\/p>\n
