{"id":65665,"date":"2020-05-03T10:29:02","date_gmt":"2020-05-03T09:29:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/?p=65665"},"modified":"2020-05-03T10:29:02","modified_gmt":"2020-05-03T09:29:02","slug":"libyan-army-hits-janjaweed-militias-south-of-tripoli","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/libyan-army-hits-janjaweed-militias-south-of-tripoli\/","title":{"rendered":"Libyan army hits Janjaweed militias south of Tripoli"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Targeting the militias of warlord Khalifa Haftar, the Libyan Army killed five Sudanese Janjaweed militants, the country\u2019s military announced Sunday.<\/h2>\n<p>The army carried out an airstrike on the Nesme region, 200 kilometers (124 miles) south of the capital Tripoli, said a statement by the Libyan Army-led Operation Rage of Volcano.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to the Sudanese militants killed, three armed vehicles were also destroyed, it added.<\/p>\n<p>In a report published Saturday, Anadolu Agency documented the presence of mercenaries in Libya from neighboring Sudan fighting for Haftar.<\/p>\n<p>The Libyan Army recently made gains against Haftar&#8217;s militias, which are supported by France, Russia, the United Arab Emirates, and Egypt.<\/p>\n<p>Following the ouster of late ruler Muammar Gaddafi in 2011, Libya\u2019s government was founded in 2015 under a UN-led political deal.
