The boss of the technology group IBM, Arvind Krishna, sees artificial intelligence (AI) as a key technology for the economy. In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, he warns against being too careless with the technology. “We need to understand the life science of AI,” says Krishna. Otherwise a monster would be created by us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to Krishna, the consumer was the first to adopt the technology. However, there will only be greater effects if companies use them. A few things would have to be clarified beforehand, such as ethical questions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Krishna anticipates that the field of artificial intelligence will grow significantly in importance and utility over the next ten years. You’ve probably only gotten 10 percent of the way on this topic, he says. Especially in the area of \u200b\u200bdata analysis, Krishna sees the technology as an advantage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“With today’s amount of data, we know that it is impossible for humans to process all the data. Previous techniques can only be used to a certain extent. The only technology that we know of that can derive insights from the data is artificial intelligence.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, Krishna sees another topic as the greatest challenge for companies: cybersecurity. “I think that’s the biggest problem we’re all going to face,” he says. There, companies would have to choose a company-wide approach, “a multi-layered protection” to be able to encrypt data and prevent attacks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
