As Thailand’s Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced, fully vaccinated people should be allowed to enter the country from May 1st without a PCR test and the associated “Test & Go” program. From May onwards, holidaymakers will no longer have to book a quarantine hotel for the first night to wait for their corona test result. Instead, they are recommended to test themselves during their stay and if they have symptoms, according to a report in Farang magazine, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the simplifications, the amount of coverage for travel health insurance will also be reduced to $10,000. The minimum coverage is currently $20,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, the application for the Thailand passport remains necessary for entry. But there should also be simplifications there: only vaccination certificates and proof of insurance have to be uploaded in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For unvaccinated travelers, on the other hand, nothing changes: you still have to book a certified quarantine hotel (SHA+) and take a PCR test on the fifth day of your stay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As the Farang reports, the changes have yet to be published in the Royal Gazette, the Thai government’s official gazette, before they can come into effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
