A new complaint for rape has been filed against the former TF1 presenter, Patrick Poivre d’Arvor, the Nanterre prosecutor’s office announced on Thursday, April 28, confirming information from Le Monde and Franceinfo. Filed in Paris, it is processed by the Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine) public prosecutor’s office, competent because of the location of the facts, said the public prosecutor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This complaint was filed shortly before the broadcast, Thursday evening on France 2, of the program “Compl\u00e9ment d’Enqu\u00eate”, in which several women overwhelm the former host, recounting acts of sexual violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We hear Mathilde (the first name has been changed), at the origin of the new complaint, denouncing a rape in the premises of TF1 in Boulogne-Billancourt in February 1995. At the time aged 24, a journalist who had just graduated , she says she was invited to PPDA’s office where he “kissed” her, then “tilted on the carpet”. \u201cHe took off my pants, he took off his pants and he raped me. I no longer had any reflexes, \u201ddescribes the complainant anonymously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to her, a few days later, \u201che grabbed me by the hair and approached my face to his penis. There, I struggled\u201d. The complainant also filed a complaint for attempted rape, according to a source familiar with the matter. Contacted by Agence France-Presse, PPDA lawyer Jacqueline Laffont said she did not wish to react.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PPDA affair broke out in February 2021, when the writer and journalist Florence Porcel filed a complaint, accusing the former presenter of having forced him to have sex in 2004 and fellatio in 2009. A preliminary investigation was then carried out during four months by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office, during which 23 women had testified. The majority of the facts denounced being prescribed, the investigation had been closed without further action in June.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The PPDA complaint against Ms. Porcel, for slanderous denunciation, had also been dismissed. At the end of November, Ms. Porcel was a civil party, in order to cause the referral to a judge to investigate again the non-prescribed facts that she denounces. The judicial investigation, opened in December 2021, is ongoing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A second rape investigation is also being conducted in Nanterre, this time by prosecutors, for facts that appear to be time-barred.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
