The order includes 13 medium-haul jets of the type A320neo and 28 machines of the long version A321neo, Condor said after a decision by the supervisory board on Monday in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt.<\/p>\n<p>There would also be purchase options for other machines. According to the company, the holiday airline wants to use the new jets to replace its previous short- and medium-haul fleet from spring 2024. This consists of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft as well as Boeing 757 jets. The company is already exchanging its Boeing 767 long-haul jets for new Airbus A330neo aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>At the Farnborough Airshow southwest of London last week, Airbus had only announced new orders for 29 passenger jets. That was only a fraction of what was usual at trade fairs before the corona pandemic. Sales manager Christian Scherer then explained that Airbus did not need an air show &#8220;to show that we sell aircraft&#8221;.
