Iran has said that a woman who was sentence to death for adultery will not be stoned to death after International outcry pressured the Islamic administration or Iran.<\/h1>\n

Iran have announced that, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani a woman sentenced to death for adultery will not be executed via stoning. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The woman aged 43-year-old was sentenced to death by stoning after courts in the Islamic republic found her guilty of adultery with two men after her husband had died.<\/h2>\n

It is not yet known if the death sentence was lifted or only the method of death was changed by the courts.<\/p>\n

The Iranian embassy in London issued a statement saying “according to information from the relevant judicial authorities in Iran, Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani will not be executed by stoning,”<\/p>\n

Mrs Ashtiani was previously found guilty of adultery after her husband had died and received 99 lashes which is the law in Iran.<\/p>\n

However the mother of two was later found guilty of having an affair while still married to her late husband, which is punished by death in the Strict Islamic country.<\/p>\n

According to Human rights group Amnesty International, Ashtiani was convicted in 2006 or 2007.<\/p>\n

Other countries including, United States, Germany and UK have been condemning the planned execution of the woman.<\/p>\n

The execution of stoning consists of men being buried up to their chest and women being buried up to their neck before a black hood is place on the victims head and they are stoned until they die.<\/p>\n

British foreign minister, William Hague said on Thursday that the execution method was \u201cappalling\u201d.<\/p>\n

William Hague said “I’m appalled by reports of the imminent execution, I think that stoning is a medieval punishment that has no place in the modern world and the continued use of such a punishment in Iran demonstrates in our view a blatant disregard for human rights.<\/p>\n

“I think if this punishment were carried out, it would disgust and appall the watching world.”<\/p>\n

One of Mrs Ashtiani\u2019s sons, 22-year-old Sajjad, has also condemned the execution conviction of his mother and has sent an open letter to human rights groups.<\/p>\n

Sajjad\u2019s letter rights “I ask you to send the letter of my mother’s pardon to Tabriz and return my mother’s life back to her. I hope that you see to it that justice in my mother’s case prevails,<\/p>\n

\u201cMy mother is in a bad psychological state, and in five whole years has been imprisoned without a day of leave from the prison).”<\/p>\n

Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davuto\u011flu has also said that he will raise the issue with the Iranian administration.<\/p>\n
