The US rock band Aerosmith has announced a final tour 53 years after it was founded. “Let’s all go nuts one last time,” the group wrote on its website Monday. From autumn 2023 around 40 concerts are planned throughout North America. Kicking off September 2nd in Philadelphia, the band will then tour the US and Canada, stopping “in famous arenas such as the Kia Forum in Los Angeles and Madison Square Garden in New York.”<\/p>\n
A highlight will be an appearance in their hometown of Boston, where Aerosmith will play a special show on New Year’s Eve 2023. The concert series in Montreal ends on January 26th. “This isn’t a farewell, this is a peace out!”, the band concludes and promises: “You’re going to have the best show of your life.”<\/p>\n
The group shared a two-minute video in which they can be seen. “It’s true,” confirms frontman Steven Tyler and clarifies at the end of the clip: “And if you think we’re joking, dream on!”<\/p>\n
Recently there have been repeated rumors about a definitive end to the band after Aerosmith repeatedly had to cancel concerts. This was mainly due to the health of Steven Tyler. The musician had suffered a drug relapse after an operation on his foot and was admitted to a rehab clinic, as the band announced last year. The 75-year-old had always been very open about his addiction, according to his own statement he had been clean for a few years.<\/p>\n
Aerosmith was founded in the USA in 1970. In addition to the founding members Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and Tom Hamilton, Brad Whitford and Joey Kramer have also been there since the early seventies. The band had worldwide success, especially in the 80s and 90s with songs like “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing”, “Crazy”, “Livin’ On The Edge”, “Amazing” or “Janie’s Got A Gun”.<\/p>\n
