Mexican-born Sergio Calder\u00f3n died Wednesday morning surrounded by his family and loved ones. This was confirmed by a spokesman for the American industry service “Deadline”. So far nothing has been announced about the cause of death.<\/p>\n
Sergio Calder\u00f3n is best known for his role as the pirate lord Eduardo Villanueva in the third installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. Also in the film “Men in Black” the actor took on an interesting role. His head was then impaled on a sword held by an alien.<\/p>\n
A few years ago, he remembered his great successes and the famous Hollywood stars with whom Sergio Calder\u00f2n stood in front of the camera via social media. On Twitter, a photo adorns his profile alongside Johnny Depp.<\/p>\n
He also posted a still from ‘Men in Black’ and wrote: “25 years ago one of the best movies I’ve been in was released, ‘Men in Black’.” It was a “wonderful opportunity” for him to be part of this film. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones were also in front of the camera with him at the time.<\/p>\n
Sergio Calder\u00f3n also remembered the successes from “Pirates of the Caribbean” with a photo. This time alongside Keith Richards.<\/p>\n
The actor was denied the really big leading roles in his career. Cinema fans still know the distinctive face. Most recently, the Mexican appeared in the series “The Resort” in 2022. Before that, he appeared in the film The Seven Faces of Jane and the series Better Things.<\/p>\n
In total, Sergio Calder\u00f3n was in front of the camera for more than 50 years, more than half of his lifetime. He made his first film in 1970, at the age of 24. In “The Bridge in the Jungle” he played the young Pedro.<\/p>\n
