Jeffrey Epstein\u2019s 3,070-hectare Zorro Ranch in the deserts of New Mexico has resurfaced at the center of attention after the U.S. Department of Justice released millions of documents linked to the case. The property, mentioned thousands of times in the files, is now prompting renewed calls for investigation at the state level.<\/p>\n

State lawmakers launch inquiry<\/h2>\n

The New Mexico House of Representatives approved the creation of a bipartisan special commission to examine alleged crimes that may have occurred at the ranch. Some Democratic lawmakers argued that longstanding allegations of sexual abuse at Zorro Ranch were never thoroughly investigated by local authorities or the FBI.<\/p>\n

Former New Mexico Attorney General Hector Balderas said an investigation was launched in 2019 but later suspended at the request of federal prosecutors to avoid a \u201cparallel investigation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Allegation of buried victims<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Among the documents is a 2019 email claiming that \u201csomewhere in the hills outside of Zorro, two foreign girls were buried on the orders of Jeffrey and Madame G.\u201d The message alleged the deaths occurred during violent sexual encounters involving strangulation. The sender\u2019s identity was redacted in the released files.<\/p>\n

The New Mexico Department of Justice has requested an unredacted version of the email and details about the sender\u2019s identity from federal authorities.<\/p>\n

Multiple testimonies<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Several women have stated they were sexually assaulted at the ranch or its surrounding buildings.<\/p>\n

Annie Farmer said she was taken to Zorro Ranch at age 16 and assaulted by Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell. During Maxwell\u2019s trial, another woman testified that she was abused by Epstein and forced to participate in \u201corgies.\u201d Virginia Giuffre also alleged she was subjected to non-consensual sexual encounters at the property.<\/p>\n

Chauntae Davies said in a 2019 interview that she was raped at least twice at Zorro Ranch.<\/p>\n

Current owner responds<\/strong><\/h3>\n

After Epstein<\/a>\u2019s death in 2019, the ranch was purchased in 2023 by the family of Texas businessman and former senator Don Huffines. Huffines stated that proceeds from the sale benefited victims and that the ranch is being converted into a Christian retreat center.<\/p>\n

He added that no law enforcement agency has requested access to the property, but said he would fully cooperate if asked.<\/p>\n
