The Assembly of Experts has now made its decision and selected a new leader, but officials say the name will remain undisclosed for now due to security concerns.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Assembly confirms decision<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Ahmed Alam al-Huda, a member of Iran\u2019s Assembly of Experts, confirmed that the council had reached a decision regarding the new Supreme Leader. According to his statement, the process of announcing the decision will be carried out by the Secretary of the Assembly.<\/p>\n<p>Alam al-Huda said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRight now everything depends on Ayatollah Hosseini Bushehri, the Secretary of the Assembly of Experts. He is currently responsible for conveying the Assembly\u2019s decision and announcing it to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Process began after Khamenei\u2019s death<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Iran\u2019s Supreme Leader <a title=\"Khamenei Dead\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/khamenei-dead-40-days-of-declared-in-iran\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ali Khamenei<\/a> died after his residence was targeted on the first day of attacks carried out by the United States and Israel.
