Speaking to reporters, Trump claimed Tehran had sent Washington a proposal and said a stronger offer arrived shortly after the trip was called off.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Trump said the first proposal was not enough<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a title=\"WSJ claims Trump was left out of key war-room briefings after missing airman crisis\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalturk.com\/en\/wsj-claims-trump-was-left-out-of-key-war\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump<\/a> said Iran had handed the US side a proposal related to the negotiations, but he described it as insufficient.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIran gave us a piece of paper. It had to be better,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>He then claimed another proposal arrived after the Pakistan visit was canceled.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>\u201cTen minutes later, we got a much better piece of paper\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>Trump said the American delegation\u2019s planned trip to Pakistan was no longer necessary and claimed the decision was followed by a new Iranian offer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInterestingly, the moment I canceled the trip, just 10 minutes later, we got a much better piece of paper,\u201d Trump said.<\/p>\n<p>Assessing Tehran\u2019s proposals, he added: \u201cIran offered a lot, but it was not enough.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><strong>\u00a0\u201cThey can call us whenever they want\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Trump said any further contact could take place by phone rather than through long diplomatic trips.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will meet with whoever we need to meet with, but we don\u2019t need to wait two days or have people travel 16 or 17 hours. We are not going to do it that way. We will make a deal over the phone. They can call us whenever they want. We have all the cards. We won everything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>He has not decided on the ceasefire<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Asked whether the ceasefire between the sides would continue, Trump replied: \u201cI haven\u2019t thought about it yet.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also repeated that the United States would not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Trump repeated claims of division in Iran<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Trump also continued to claim that Iran\u2019s leadership was divided. He said there was internal conflict within the Iranian administration and argued that the leadership was struggling over power.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey are fighting with each other. There is tremendous internal conflict. In many cases, they are fighting over leadership.
